Episode 64: An Episode on Music Therapy Research

The 2015 Scope of Music Therapy Practice defines “music therapy” as “the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals for people of all ages and ability levels within a therapeutic relationship by a credential professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.” One of the characteristics outlined in this definition is “evidence-based,” which implies a focus on RESEARCH.

Here are some tips if you want to do research in the field of music therapy similar to Top 10 Binary Signals website

American Massage Therapy Association strives in order to favor the music therapy. Not only this, but it has always been supportive of giving the latest updated information that has been done by doing research on music therapy.

  • PubMed which consists of more than 26 million references for literature in biomedical which is got from MEDLINE, a journal that documents about life science as well as books that are available online. All this is available to be accessed free of cost.
  • When the user makes use of PubMed and other means of the database to do the research there is an operator known as Boolean operators used as a connection between the terms that are used to search as well as defines what relationship they have. If you want to join the terms that you are searching make use of the connecting words like AND, OR, NOT. When you place AND connector in between the terms it will mean that all the words mentioned should be present in the result.

Episode 62: Transforming Challenges to Opportunities

Seeking Out Jobs, Clients & Contracts

There was a lot of preaching done in the year of 2017 January about the social media advocacy for music therapy which was done by several bloggers who wrote about music therapy, podcasters who spread this news on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Social media advocacy is nothing but influencing the social media networks who like what you post in social media. Just like these details that always preach about trading.

January marks social media advocacy month in the music therapy community. Throughout the month, music therapy bloggers and podcasters, like us, band together to talk about music therapy, advocacy, and the importance of being a music therapy advocate. This year’s social media advocacy month theme is re: VISION. It has multiple meanings, which we’ll talk about soon, but generally centers on the idea of transforming challenges into advocacy opportunities.

In this episode 62 of the Music Therapy Round Table podcast, we’ll talk about that idea through sharing our own experiences of turning challenges to opportunities, then will end with some information about a pretty significant change to happen for the music therapy profession, the creation of the scope of music therapy practice.

CBMT and AMTA worked together to create a Scope of Music Therapy Practice (2015) for the profession based on published documents from both organizations. This new document entitled Scope of Music Therapy Practice (2015) is available as an educational tool and legislative support document that broadly defines the range of responsibilities of a fully qualified music therapy professional with requisite education, clinical training, and board certification.
