Episode 59: An Overview of Music Therapy in Hospice Settings

by MTRT on October 14, 2014

Music is ubiquitous among all cultures, ages, and populations, making music therapy a particularly useful tool in a very broad range of settings. Music therapists can practice in schools, hospitals, even prisons, and can provide benefits to the very young, the very old, and everyone in between. Just as music can provide support in the beginning of life, such as in a neonatal intensive care unit, music supports clinical goals toward the end of life. Increasingly, hospice agencies are adding music therapists to their teams to help meet a variety of needs. In episode 59 of the Music Therapy Round Table podcast, we will be providing an overview of what it looks like to be a hospice music therapist.
